Blast 26 :: Making it special...

with some felt birthday chair decorations...

We have another birthday this week of the soon- to- be- three kind. One of our birthday traditions is decorating the birthday child's chair the night before so they awaken to a special spot all decked out, just for them. When my oldest (17) was young, it was streamers and balloons...as timed passed and I discovered my love for felt, each child was made one of these to help celebrate their special day. Each is different, made with something that was so very them at the time I made it.

This little banner above? I was working on it for my little birthday girl but...it didn't seem to fit her. The colors seem off for her so I will be making her another one today. But , good news! If you think it evokes something of your little one...it will be this Saturday's drawing ;)

Here is how it looks in action....

more birthday love coming this week...:)

Wow, it seems like you guys have all your birthdays clustered together like we do (three within four days in May--of course with twins it was inevitable that at least two birthdays would be very, very close together). What a nice tradition to have--I was just looking at a book of felt christmas decorations (yes I suppose it is a bit early to be thinking of that) and there's a sweet star garland in it that these hearts remind me of.

We have a season here... from April to Sept...all of our little family here (with the exception on the new one - she pushed it back to Feb :) and some extended family too - craziness! Is the book you mention, Fa La La felt? I have that and LOVE it!

Birthdays are so fun that we now celebrate each for a weekend close to the birthday in addition to the special day. That way we get some good outings or big wishes coming true too.
